Survey on Outpatient´s Consciousness for Dispensing in Asan Medical Center

Abstract

|
Since Asan Medical Center opened in 1989, order Communication System (OC) for outpatient by Total Hospital Information System (THIS) has been working for the purpose of automation and promotion of efficency about preparing and dispensing affairs in outpatient pharmacy.
To evaluate waiting time of outpatients to be received drugs, the medication teaching system and non-complience rate of outpatients produced by our Order Communication System which is different dispensing system compare with other medical facilities in Korea, the survey on out-patient´s consciousness for dispensing by questionnaire was done to outpatients who were waiting medication in front of outpatient pharmacy.
The results are as follows : 1) Withdrawal rate of questionnaire was 14.9% 2)52% of respondents feel that dispensing system of A san Medical Center is more convenient compare with other medical facilities. 3) It was investigated that waiting time for medication was shorter than other hospital by 69.6% of respondents. 4) 56.1% of respondents were received medication teaching during his or her medical examination from physician. 5) Non-compliance rate for medication was investigated in 23.4% of respondents.
